111084-11 Double winner in Berlin marathon race.

This is an achievement that will long be remembered in the world of (inter)national pigeon racing. It is highly exceptional to have no less than two prizes from Berlin (1079 km) with an one year female. It is 111084-11 who made this incredible performance.

I already knew that Iureti Relu is an amazing fancier. I have always understood that he tries to do the best he can and I also understood that that he can get the best out of every pigeon. The ambition and the fighting spirit of a true champion, Iureti Relu. But this achievement is really incredible!

He has really dominated the marathon races of 2012 from Romania as you can see:

Elblag 888 km / 5110 pigeons: 20, 85, 103, 117, 130, 135, 147, .....(18/31)

Linco Spectin, Suanovil and Catosal

Problems with the so-called ‘one eye colt’ or 'heads'? Did you know that an injection of 0,2 cc Linco Spectin, 0,2 cc Suanovil and 0,2 cc Catosal gets rid of this problem straight away.
Catosal is primarily used for for metabolic disorders, to protect the liver, for indigestion, fertility problems and growth disorders. Catosal is also used very successfull to prevent stress, support performance or mitigate metabolic disorders. In addition, Catosal is excellent for aging animals.
Its effect of stimulating the immune system, coupled with its antioxidant and anabolic effects, visibly help stimulate the appetite, improve vitality and thus enhance the quality of life for older pets.
And when animals feel good, their owners feel good, too!

Pigeons Coryza

How do you know that your pigeons have this diseases ?

- Below are few signs of this disease :
- Do you see pigeons that open their beaks wide, and smack or have slime in their throats ?
- Do you hear from time to time "tchic" ?
- Do your birds have dirty nostrils ?
- Do you birds scratch their head or nose with their feet ?
- After flying, do they sit with their beaks wide open ?

This is not at all an uncommon complaint, and it causes considerable losses, being also on the difficulties sometimes classed as Roup. With pigeons it often occurs during moulting, and is contagious, and sometimes plays havoc in the pigeon roost. Pigeons suffering from coryza keep their bills open, and a yellow-looking mucus may be seen in the nostrils; the mouth also looks yellow. If the disease is noticed in time, remove the infected bird, but if a number are affected, it is better to treat the whole lot.
In hens, coryza is generally caused by catching cold in continuous wet weather, or by very sudden changes in the weather. It is characterized by an increased discharge from the nostrils and sneezing. At times it is epidemic.
Coryza is actually the descriptive term used to identify the thick mucous discharges usually associated with both Mycoplasmosis catarrh and Ornithosis. The bacteria ( termed Chlamydia in the case of Ornithosis ) lodge in the upper respiratory tract and can be extremely hard to completely eradicate. Often, infected birds never completely recover. Although their external symptoms may disappear, they can remain carriers for life.

Symptoms - The classic symptoms of respiratory infections include mucous in the throat, open beak and heavy breathing, rasping or gurgling while breathing, watery discharge from eyes, sometimes associated with swelling in the eye area. Other symptoms include discharge from the nasal area. and occasionally air sac swelling or crop swelling as torn air sacs trap air under the skin. As is usually the case with pigeons, other diseases can quickly manifest themselves when birds are in distress, so other symptoms can occur, such as loose, greenish droppings and loss of weight. Most often the only noticeable difference in our birds will be their unwillingness to fly or their complete failure in the racing events. Respiratory infections are the most damning it racing fanciers because many populations are carriers of the disease in one form or another, and symptoms are hard to identify. But results will definitely be diminished.

Prevention - The most important aspects in controlling respiratory infections are adequate ventilation without drafts, keeping dust and ammonia levels low ( which means keeping droppings from accumulating ) and controlling dampness and overcrowding Since tests have indicated that in some areas as much as 70% of the wild pigeon population is either infected with or carries respiratory disease, it would be wise to limit contact with feral birds. Since sporadic drug treatment at inadequate levels can cause rapid resistance to medication, always treat with effective drugs for the recommended length of time. Proper quarantining of new birds is also a must.

As a precautionary measure :

To avoid contamination in the basket during racing season, put one drop of Mugmo X Colman in the nostrils when they come home from the race.
